Sunday 6am

Let the dogs out this morning to a scene right out of a Horror movie :) Bright moon, fog twisting around the trees. Half expected a loup garou to step out of the shadows :D
I am seldom creeped out anymore but that kinda gave me goosebumps and I think the dogs sensed it because they wasted no time getting back in the house :)

Part of what I loved about this place was the isolation. It is a pain in the butt drive into town if I happen to run out of dog food or toilet paper tho :)
I am a perfect candidate for being dropped on a dessert island tho. I am more than ok with my own company :)

A4A Team Challenge

Photos

Ya know, I know one trick and that is painting.
I do dabble in a lot of other things.
I do pretty decent paper mache, a little bit of jewelry, I love altered art.
I will never claim photography as one of my skills nor do I particularly enjoy it.
Too much fussing with lighting and range and blah blah.
Anyone, point to this long story,THANK YOU Sanja, for pointing me in the right direction, thank you for telling me how to do things the RIGHT way!
Your help is invaluable and much much appreciated!!
You rock!

Ok ok

Well, it is laundry day.
I hate it.
I am sad :(
I loathe laundry, hate my creepy basement.
I'd rather be painting :)
TTT's new challenge is Marie Antoinette meets Marylin Monroe:D
I have some fun ideas for that :)
I am framing all my purchases today or find ways to display them and my studio is such a disaster, I lost both my phones in the clutter :)

New stuff

I love hats!

Bought this hat last year. Mama and I were the Blues Brothers for Halloween :)
Mama was one kick ass Blues Brother!
Anyway, since all the Etsy ladies are changing their avis to their pic, I thought I would paint mine. No sugar coating, I left the wrinkles and and dark circles under my eyes lol :)

Whew! What a week!

27 sales in 8 days! That is a record for me and it was awesome! I have the last few packages going out in tomorrows mail.
I have been painting a little too. Did a few really nice aceos. I think my work reflects my mood and I have had a great couple of weeks.
Mama goes back home on Oct 13th :D
She has lived with me 45 out of the last 48 months.
I am looking forward to a little peace and quiet and lots of privacy :)
Not to gross ya'll out of give you TMI but there is no such thing as a love life when you have an snoopy mother lurking around :)

Sunday :)

Usually the only day of the week I sleep past 3 am :)
The dogs hate Sundays :D
Their tummy clocks are programed to go off at 3 am and they are very resentful of the couple extra hours sleep I need from time to time!
I am working on a vision board today.
I have had that planned for a couple months now and it always gets shoved to the back burner.
And of course I will paint.
I will bake a cake or cookies and set mama in front of the tv with snacks and a couple of Tom Selleck westerns, her fav :), and hopefully get some peace and quiet :)
I have a few errands and a trip to Michael's planned for this morning and packaging to finish for last weeks orders too.
The only part of this whole selling process that I dislike is the trip to the P O.
They are grumpy and always tell me I have package wrong and that is the reason my packages arrive damaged.
I have changed packaging several times. From bubble wrapped envelopes to regular letter envelopes. I have tried wrapping with packaging paper, printing labels...
Anyway, I received some art a couple weeks ago that was packaged with sheets of cardboard on both sides and the P O still folded it in half and ruined the paintings.
They were originals and there is really no fixing the damage so I will have to live with it.
It will however and sadly prevent me from ever spending that kind of money on a painting again.
Totally not the artists fault. He did package safely. I saved for 4 months to get that particular piece and it saddens me that this had to happen.

Did this the other day

Woke up with the thought in my head and couldn't shake it so here is the painting.
Thanks Vamp, for sharing the pic!

Some new stuff....

I don't know how anyone else is but for me when I am stressed, I turn to my work.
Nothing can make me forget problems faster than painting, oh say, Johnny D :D
But when the stress is work related, there goes my refuge and my only other option is to sleep. I have done a lot of the over the past few weeks.
Thanks to some dear friends, that situation is now under control and I am painting again, YAY!
5 lovely new aceos are now posted.
Some are winter scenes which I normally don't do, not being a huge fan of winter :)But the muse had a plan I guess and since she is smarter than I am, I did what I was told :)

My thoughts on art.........

I have met so many amazing artists since joining Etsy!
I should clarify that to me "art" is anything and everything you create from a blank piece of paper, a lump of clay, bottles of wonderful scents or a scattered handful of beads :)
And I love it all!
I am hopeless with clay and not much better with beads which makes meeting and getting to know these wonderful artist such a great experience.

Aceos are my latest addiction and I have acquired so many awesome ones, it is not easy to pick a favorite!

Congrats to Kuhlwhip (Eyescream) for her win in Timetravelersteams Halloween aceo contest!
Here are some of my favorite aceos :)

Some of my clutter

My studio

Woo hoo! My new blog!

Hmmm, well, what's this blog about?
Well, I am not much into politics, foreign affairs or any of that other depressing nonsense.
Yes, I do think about it but not here on this blog :)
This is my place for art and creativity.
This is my place to share what is on the drawing board, what crazy things mama and the dogs are up to, some pics of home and the occasional recipe.

So for those of you that don't know me well, here is a brief bio.
I am an artist, great cook, decent gardener,I love romance novels but blush when I read them, hate laundry, love animals, I love music playing in my house all day, everything from Britney Spears to Frank Sinatra.

I love motorcycle rides and I cry over old sappy movies, I paint every minute of the day that I can.
That is pretty much it.
So grab a cup of tea or coffee and join me if you like, share how your day is going, what is on your mind, share your art :)
